Editing and proofreading in PDF or Word

Jan 21, 2024
If PDF files are submitted for editing or proofreading, the editing is done in the PDF file in comment form. Therefore, after editing or proofreading, the customer must manually transfer the corrections or optimizations to the original document. If the work was written in Word or OpenOffice, it is better to submit it as a Word or OpenOffice document for these reasons.

Since editing a PDF file in comment mode is also more time-consuming for us, the costs for editing or proofreading increase somewhat. If possible, customers should therefore avoid PDF files. However, this is not always possible, e.g. if the original document was created in InDesign or LaTex. In these cases, customers often submit PDF files. We annotate PDF documents in Adobe Reader, and therefore recommend that you use the same program. This will ensure that all our comments and notes are displayed correctly.
