Translation of PDF-Documents or scanned PDFs

Jan 21, 2024
If PDF files or scanned PDFs are submitted for translation, the PDF must be converted to Word and edited by the translator. The editing work is charged separately. Therefore, after editing or proofreading, the customer must manually transfer the corrections or optimizations to the original document. If the work has been written in Word or OpenOffice, extra editing is not necessary and the text can be edited directly.

Since editing is also more time-consuming for us when converting a PDF file into Word, the costs for translation or proofreading increase. If possible, customers should therefore avoid PDF files. However, this is not always possible, e.g. if the original document was created in InDesign or LaTex. In these cases, customers often submit PDF files.
